Week 3 interview post

  •              The person that I interviewed is my guitar teacher. He is not very famous, but he can sing and write really wonderful music. I made an appointment with him and try to talk about how he wrote the lyric.  He was really friendly and introduces more details about writing lyrics.
  •              “The rhyme is the most important part for lyric.”  He introduce to me at beginning like that. He told me when he wrote the lyric for a song, he usually needs to work 2-3 days, and also need revise more and more. “You need to learn how to hit the point in order to write lyrics, the three rules for writing lyrics are clear, clean, and consistent.”  He told me another difficult part is the brainstorm part.  “In order to write good lyrics, you need to familiar with the melody of the music, in another words, you need to have experience with the mood that this melody wants to show up.” He said it’s really hard and really complicated.
  •            Compare the lyric writing to the class writing, I found the most important thing is brainstorm. A good topic can bring you several good ideas about style, arrangement, and beautiful words. Although different kinds of writing have different writing styles, but the brainstorm part is really important for all kinds of writing. Also, the three rules that my guitar teacher mentioned-clean, clear, and consistent is also really important for writing an essay.
  •              From his introduce, I learn more about how to brainstorm the topic when you want to write something. The most important rule is learning how to stand in the reader’s position, you will write the essay that they like.
